Silas Fiction is a two-piece dark indie pop/rock group from Northwest Indiana. Silas Smith left his career at a Fortune 500 to focus on writing for Silas Fiction, while prepping for a future in entertainment law. He paired up with guitarist Thom Carter in early 2016, drawing inspiration from small acts with huge sound like Death from Above 1979. Bon Iver’s sweet yet powerful falsettos were another point of inspiration, as Silas Fiction takes their own spin on the raging yet calm beauty that these harmonies can unlock. They are ramping up for their first full length album “Pairs” slated for release September 27, 2016.
Bad Company is the softer side of Ennui, the two bipolar introduction singles from Pairs. Pairs is at its core a concept album about the duality of existence. The opposing forces that keep the world in balance, and the idea that chaos might be the only thing holding us all together. Each song is intrinsically linked to another on the album, and is a tribute to what we all lose to distance, time, and the polarized social condition of our current generation.
