July Talk with Kingswood and Adam Baldwin at The Danforth Music Hall

Photographs by Matt Forsythe.

Toronto welcomed home July Talk with two shows at the Danforth Music Hall on October 26th and 27th, with Halloween costumes were encouraged for both.

They opened with Summer Dress as the crowd sang along to every word, Peter and Leah did their usual live antics, jumping onto each other’s backs and grabbing the other’s face.  The set list was a mixture of both studio albums and the For Your Bloodshot Eyes EP.

Over the short few years July Talk have been around, they have gone from strength to strength with nonstop touring between Canada, the States and Europe.  Expressing how much it meant to them that we all showed up.  By the third song, Peter went on to say that when you are out on the road, you miss things you didn’t think you would and how great it was to be home.

They said that the crew that films all their signature black and white music videos was filming the show that night as well.

Highlights from the night was when they talked about seeing Gord Downie perform the week before and dedicated their song “Jesus Said So”, from their second album Touch, to him.

July Talk holds the ability to keep the crowd wanting more, even if it is your first time seeing them.  They always leave a great impression on the audience and hold the have a strong live show, thanks to the nonstop touring.

It is only a matter of time before we see them home again.

You can purchase July Talk’s latest album, Touch, on iTunes or stream on Spotify.
