Video Premiere: “Rose Hips (Live at Leaqfest)” by Bien Bien

What started as three archetypical genres, incarnate — late-night college hangs, musical orgies, if you will — has yielded a fully formed collaboration. Melding jazz, soul, indie rock and hip hop, Bien Bien have created their own brand of groovy, easily digestible tunes. The band’s founding members, Javi (vox, guitar), Marshall Arts (guitar) and Coniferous Wallace (beats, percussion), have the vibrant and youthful community of Madison, Wisconsin under their reverberant and colourful spell. Bien Bien’s debut EP, She Grooves Me, is out now.

“Leaqfest is a beautiful bi-annual music + arts celebration held at the Leaquinox house on W Mifflin St in Madison, WI. The fest showcases the best up-and-coming musicians from all across the country. There have been artists that come to Leaqfest from even California and Oregon! Being a part of the 6th Leaqfest was an absolute pleasure. Not only was it put together so creatively (endless little art exhibits and visual stimuli throughout the house), but the people who attended the event are the greatest live music patrons out there. There was so much camaraderie and love in the air, and the energy was superb. Plus, this Leaqfest was space-themed, so it was naturally very festive.”
