Nyssa started her first band when she was 12. She spent her teens and early 20s honing her chops in Toronto-sweethearts, Modern Superstitions, working with members of Fucked Up, Holy Fuck, and Sloan along the way.
Now, with over a decade of writing and performing under her belt, Nyssa is releasing her debut EP, Champion of Love, which includes the single “Cowboy”—a slow-burn countrified-disco gem that doles out Dolly Parton-esque wisdom and sass over sultry chugging synths. Nyssa helmed the production and arrangements, while enlisting AL-P (MSTRKRFT) for co-production, Ben Reinhartz (Dilly Dally) on drums, and Jeff McMurrich (Idée Fixe Records) to mix.
