Video Premiere : “Be Okay” by Raz

From The Artist : “Be Okay” was inspired by Summer, as well as the challenging year we have all been experiencing. The song is an ode to the Summer and a reminder that everyone experience lows and highs, struggles and triumphs, but if Summer and nature find a way to come back and give us joy and warm weather each year – then maybe we can pick ourselves up and get through this struggle on our way to our next triumph. “Be Okay” was co-produced by Taabu and Andrew Falcao. The experience was smooth and easy. After I heard the original production in one of Andrew’s Instagram posts, we had one production session with Taabu to finalize the instrumental and one recording session. It’s not often that everyone is on the exact same page, with the exact same vision during a collaboration, but every session was filled with positive vibes and a focus on making a song we all loved.

Raz – born and raised in Brampton, Ontario and of West Indian descent – realized his passion for music and recording during his time at University of Western. He spent the last 9 years dedicated to perfecting his songwriting and creating a unique sound that represents his experiences, personal growth and spirituality. After graduating and turning down his acceptance to a Doctorate program, Raz moved to Germany where he toured for over 6 months. Now with almost a decade in the industry including writing with Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), a recent collaboration with Isam B of Outlandish, opening for Brother Ali, Hasan Minhaj, Mo Amer, Shawn Hook and Mustafa The Poet – his mixture of Hip-Hop and Stadium Rock creates an intimate world where emotion and his message are front and centre in every song. Raz recently released two singles; “From the Fire” and “My World” featuring Isam B which garnered international attention racking up over 130k YouTube views and 70k Splays on Spotify.
