As Pride month is well underway, lavender wild announces its return, this year in the form of the ultimate dance party for 2SLGTBQI+ communities. This year’s event will take place at HISTORY in Toronto for a night of music, dancing, and celebration. General Admission tickets will go on sale beginning today, June 21 at 10 AM EST. Tickets will be available at lavenderwildfest.com.
Of all the shades of purple, lavender is most associated with 2SLGBTQI+ communities and is a historical symbol of resistance and empowerment. lavender wild was founded on the basis of creating inclusive spaces for these communities to listen to live music together, create connections, and amplify equity deserving voices.
Returning on Saturday, August 24, lavender wild will create an intimate experience for fans of all ages in Toronto. lavender wild presents will host a night featuring a 2SLGBTQI+ lineup of international and local artists, DJs, and drag performers. Fans can enjoy market vendors, themed attire, and other community focused activities on site, bringing an all-encompassing festival feel into the venue.
lavender wild continues to focus on shared values within the community, and champions creating events by and for queer people. Lavender wild prioritizes hiring members of 2SLGBTQI+ communities to help support various components of the event, including videographers, photographers, musicians, performers, and market vendors. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Canadian non-profit, The Get Real Movement, a charity that works to combat 2SLGBTQI+ discrimination in schools and workplaces through community led education. In addition, a portion of ticket sales will also be donated to Glad Day Bookshop. Open since 1970, it is the oldest 2SLGBTQI+ bookstore in the world.
