Burgeoning rock trio Deux Visages is vocalist Daphney Hanono, guitarist Jack Chiu and bassist Tony Jouvin. Their emergence has been a whirlwind. Last week the band announced their debut full-length and first with Pure Noise Records, Call It Goodbye. It’s Deux Visages’ coming-of-age story – a sophisticated yet visceral examination of the conflict between the past and the future. Each invigorating and powerful track bristles with the tension and emotions that come with youth and new experiences. On Call It Goodbye, the trio look back at what’s been, while also confidently leaving that very past behind.
On “Automatic”, available today alongside an accompanying video, Hanano reflects on an internal monologue of feeling ‘less than’ and ‘predictable’. She tells, “A lot of this track has to do with things crashing down around us with our first record deal. It was our early days as a band and touring, and we weren’t feeling worthy or ready to handle all of these major changes.”
