Ruston Kelly Shares His New Single ‘Half Past Three’

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly releases his first original single of the year, Half Past Three. The track, written by Kelly and produced by Jarrad K (Kate Nash, Weezer), is a meditation on Kelly’s search for peace within the chaos, as he transforms unsparing and often-painful self-examination into moments of sublime catharsis.

“If you observe the world around you and see chaos, and you observe the internal world and feel that sentiment unsettles you personally, it can breed a sense of hopelessness. Or can even more dangerously make one adopt the idea that things just fall apart,” says Kelly. “I was faced with questions I didn’t have answers to at the moment, but that assuredly, when the day is done, and you’re laying in bed spinning out over these things, and your reason to get up and take it, turns over gently to you, there is a silent moment listening to it raining outside and you realize, in spite of it all, I already have what matters most.”

Half Past Three arrives on the heels of the second volume of his fan-favourite covers record Dirt Emo Vol. 2 and two sold out Dirt Emo Night shows at the Basement East in Nashville.
