I think most people were a little shocked yet very pleased that the band started the set off with one of their biggest hits “Liztomania”. Thomas Mars thrilled the first few rows further by coming out to join them during “Lasso”. Phoenix spent most of the night infront of some heavy strobes and think smoke. Half way through the set the band dropped a white curtain and proceded to play in the resulting shadows. Soon after the curtain came up I noticed a couple band members making their way to the soundboard area. Here the band played a couple of acoustic songs. One even in French. They finished off the set with an extended version of “1901” that resulted in Thomas Mars surfing over the crowd before returning to the stage to bid them adieu.
