Watch Mitski Perform On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Mitski returned to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night in support of her new album, Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, out this Friday via Dead Oceans. Marking her first performance on the show since 2016 and accompanied by her full band, Mitski performed “I’ll Change for You,” “the album’s tortured heart” (Record Collector), unveiled earlier this month to wide acclaim. Stereogum hailed the song as “a gracefully resigned ballad that shows off Mitski’s vocal prowess, that peerless ability to sound refined and overwhelmed all at once.”

Last night’s performance offers a taste of what to expect on Mitski’s run of global performances kicking off next week. She will bring her “unusual, enigmatic and utterly compelling” (The Guardian) live show to select cities around the world with residencies in select major cities: six nights at The Shed in New York City, five nights at Hollywood High School in Los Angeles, and four nights at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney. Additional stops include Mexico City, Istanbul, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, London, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. Tickets are now available here, with many dates already sold out.

Finally, Mitski has announced a special one off concert at the Starland Ballroom on Saturday, February 28th. Tickets are on sale tomorrow, Thursday, February 26th.
