Multi-platinum, JUNO Award-winning and five-time CCMA Award-winning songwriter Clayton Bellamy, is set to release the music video for his latest single, “I Miss Tom Petty”(Skysong Records/The Orchard) on September 29th. Today we are very excited to be teaming up with Bellamy to give our readers and exclusive first look at the video before it’s release tomorrow.
Co-written with Dan Davidson and Tim Hicks, the introspective single was inspired by his acclaimed live production The Legendary Life of Tom Petty. It introduces a more vulnerable side of Bellamy, reflecting on growing older and the bittersweet realization that the people, places and moments we once believed would always be there eventually become memories. The accompanying music video, filmed by Travis Nesbitt, takes viewers through the rugged landscapes of Alberta and British Columbia, weaving Clayton’s performance into sweeping Rocky Mountain scenery and remote stretches of wilderness. Shot over the course of a week, the cinematic video captures the song’s reflective spirit, while showcasing the beauty of the places we pass through and the fleeting moments we wish we could hold onto a little longer.
Best known as one-third of award-winning group The Road Hammers and co-founder of Skysong Records, Bellamy has spent more than 20 years building a celebrated career as a songwriter, performer, and producer. His multimedia concert experience, The Legendary Life of Tom Petty, inspired him to reconnect with the emotional core of songwriting, ultimately shaping the sound and direction of his upcoming album.

From The Artist: “This video was a really special one for me because I got to share the whole journey with Stacey Evans, my partner and musical companion. We drove about 3,000 kilometres through Alberta and B.C., and, like any good road trip, we had a few adventures along the way — lots of laughs, some tears, a smashed hand thanks to me and a door, and even a breakdown that left us stranded in the Rockies with no cell service for a day and a night. Somehow, we made it home, and Travis captured something really beautiful. For me, the video is a reminder to appreciate the people you love, the places you get to see, and the time you have together — because those are the things that matter most,” said Clayton Bellamy.
