Ok it’s been way too long since I’ve seen Hollerado live. I last caught them opening up for Arkells at Tattoo Rock parlour almost two years ago. This time around the were playing at the Mod Club as part of the Edge 102.1 nxne showcase. Hollerado is the pure definition of fun. The band has got a really good set of catchy tunes that they’ve put together in “Record In A Bag” released earlier this year and the songs sound great live.  It’s not hard to imagine how good their live show is since they are really one of the hardest working bands around.  I believe they played every day of the nxne music festival this year. Add that to their 28 day stint in February of last year when they travelled around Ontario, Quebec, and the eastern US for four weeks playing a show every night.

Hollerado was named the winner of the Big Money Shot contest put on by Ottawa radio station Live 88.5 and currently have their single “Juliette” getting heavy rotation on the Edge. It is so popular right now you almost hear it daily on the Fearless Five at Five. “Juliette” is just a really fun song and anyone who has lost somebody close to them can really appreciate how upbeat it is for the subject while it pays homage to those we’ve lost, wonderful.  If you haven’t seen Hollerado live yet what are you waiting for?
