Cyndi Lauper at Massey Hall – October 27, 2013

Massey Hall hosted Cyndi Lauper’s “She’s So Unusual” 30th Anniversary tour in Toronto, on Sunday October 27th.

At 9 pm, Cyndi Lauper entered the stage, clad in black leather, and supporting a black leather jacket with long fringes, which she removed early in the show. Her hair had wild red coloured hair extensions, just like how she wore it, 30 years ago.

She opened with “Money Changes Everything” the lead track from her 1983 album. Cyndi Lauper pranced around the stage, mounted one of the speakers, and jumped off it, like someone half her age! She announced she was going to play the entire “She’s So Unusual” album to which the audience went wild.

The band went directly into her chart topping hit, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”. She showcased her voice and it was all there! Her voice was strong and Cyndi nailed the high notes time and time again! Not bad for someone who’s 60 years old. She popped out into the crowd getting up close and personal. She covered all the favourites like “Time After Time”, “True Colours” and “Shine”.

This was definitely a show not to be missed!
