AlunaGeorge at Spotify House, SXSW 2016

The sheer scale of SXSW provides plenty of opportunities for finding great talent along the streets of Austin, Texas. Day one of the five-day long event started off with a visit to Spotify House, usually a good bet for an interest lineup which includes artists of all genres.

With an announcement that AlunaGeorge were about to perform their first ever SXSW show, the gathered crowd would have been none the wiser. The electronic-pop duo came out on stage with an air of confidence that you would have thought they are seasoned SXSW performers. While producer George was mostly still at the back of the stage providing the hard hitting beats, Aluna rocked the stage and got the crowd dancing despite the 90-degree weather. With catchy pop tunes like “I’m In Control,” AlunaGeorge are definitely someone to keep on your radar.
