Everyday we will be posting a year end survey submitted by team members, they appear unedited with contributors told to interpret questions how ever they see fit. -Dakota, Music Editor

- Agnes- Glass Animals
- My Heart’s Always Yours- Arkells
- Are We Ready (Wreck)- Two Door Cinema Club
How many concerts and/or festivals did you go to in 2016?
Oh boy, I went to 1 festival and if I were to have to guess how many concerts I went to this year I would have to say about 70ish (give or take a few).
What were your three favourite concerts of the year?
Oh jeez this is a hard one okay here we go
1) Arkells @ The Town Ballroom
2) Catfish and the Bottlemen @ The Danforth Music Hall
3) Bastille @ The Danforth Music Hall
What was your favourite festival you attended of the year?
Well I only attended one so that’s easy! Firefly Music Festival.
What festival had the best lineup (regardless if you attended or not)?
Hands down Firefly did no question about it.
What/who was the biggest musical disappointment (live or album) for you?
I was a tad bit disappointed by Signs of Light by The Head and the Heart. Their first two albums were so amazing and this one kind of let me down (on a side note though their lead single off the album “All We Ever Do” was amazing and I think that’s why I had such high hopes for the album).
In your opinion, what was the biggest music story?
Lemonade. That is all.
What band did you see live for the first time that really impressed you?
After being a huge fan for years I finally got around to seeing Arkells and I was utterly blown away!
What was your favourite new musical discovery of 2016?
Glass Animals (I am so late on listening to them and I hate myself a little bit for it).
Who were you disappointed to miss seeing live this year?
Glass Animals…
Who should we be looking out for in 2017?
Keep an eye out for the new Amber Run album, also Bad Suns just released a new album this year and they are on the brink of something big and I really think next year will be their year. Also I think the world needs to pay more attention to The Struts, they’re gonna be big I can feel it.
Who’s going to be headlining (or at least playing) all the 2017 festivals?
I have high hopes that Ben Howard will emerge from hiding, drop a surprise album, and re-emerge on to the stage (one can dream okay). But in all honesty I really think that the world will be seeing a whole lot of Catfish and the Bottlemen next year.
What was your favourite review or photo set you did for LiL this year?
Is there anything else you want to say about 2016 or predict about 2017?
The lack of new Taylor Swift music this year was very devastating for me but her new song with Zayn gives me some hope, even if it is just for a movie. So I’m gonna predict that TS6 is announced early next year.
