VIP Ballin’ at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball with Virgin Mobile Canada

There’s no time quite like the holiday season to make the people in your life feel a little extra special. This year, our friends at Virgin Mobile Canada took the thought quite seriously, and invited our team to be a part of the second annual iHeartRadio Canada Jingle Ball North. While we haven’t quite reached performer-level status just yet, we were definitely treated like one of the stars while getting up-close with some of the biggest acts in music.

From the time that we entered through a private Member’s entrance (that is, after we first spent quite some getting our picture taken on the red carpet), the Virgin Mobile team made sure we were comfortable and excited for the night ahead. Liaisons chatted with us every step of the way as we got decked out in wristbands, hit up coat check, and honoured with the official Virgin VIP Badge, which made walking through to the floor section of the Air Canada Centre a head-turning experience.

And that’s when we saw it: a warm, holiday oasis, occupying a section of the floor area with a prime sightline directly to the stage. For the next few hours, the Virgin Mobile Member Lounge became our home, with all of the necessities: a well-stocked bar, charging stations, plush seats, and cookies in the shape of every member of the Backstreet Boys and Fifth Harmony so that we could get our Instagram game on. We occupied such a distinct space that it often felt like the spotlight was on us, especially with crew members like Tyrone and Liz Trinnear filming live hits from the lounge. We munched on popcorn as we watched Virginia to Vegas, who we even had the chance to meet, hug, and snap a photo with backstage later on in the evening. And then, there were the snacks on snacks on snacks; mini grilled cheese, crispy fish fillet sandwiches, and even a deep fried Philly cheese steak that fuelled us as we caught acts like Jessie Reyez, Fergie, Cardi B, and Post Malone.

With the Virgin Mobile Members Lounge situated so close to the stage, we could easily move back and forth between the two areas. Of course, when it came to acts like Kelly Clarkson, Fifth Harmony, and the Backstreet Boys, we were front and center at the main stage, but it was nice to know that we would never miss a single beat of Jingle Ball North – even if we were just grabbing napkins to wipe up our fangirl tears. It was an incredible night of music that left us fulfilled and excited for the festive season ahead. Least to say, we truly felt larger than life thanks to Virgin Mobile Canada, who works with some of the best brands and events to create even better experiences for their Members.
