From The Artist : “I’ve been working on this project for quite some time now, and it finally feels ready to release. I really wanted my music to portray this sort of vibe that I constantly dream of – that vibe being soulful, sun-tinged, beach-y, R&B. I wanted this art to stand for everything that I love, and I think it does just that.
While I have had some experience writing a record and putting out an album, it hasn’t felt quite like this. This music is exactly who I am and what I would turn on and listen to. The authenticity of this project is something I’m really proud of. But I couldn’t have done it myself. Throughout the process, I began working with producer Waspy from Dirty Radio. When I told him my creative vision, he totally got it. “Brown Sugar” was effortlessly created and captures the sunny soulful vibes that I love so much.”

The song evokes sunny California beach vibes and captures the bubbly personality of Rozie to a T. It serves as the kickoff track to a series of new songs that will define Rozie’s fun and unique sound. Subconsciously drawing influences from artists like Erykah Badu, Tom Misch, SZA, The Internet, Sade, and Alicia Keys; Rozie blends multiple sounds together while injecting a brand new spin all her own. The new single ‘Brown Sugar’ is a fantastic example of the influences combining to create something truly captivating. It’s a song that wouldn’t feel out of place at the beach or the club.
