Album Review: Atomic Tom: The Moment

So what do they sound like? Well, take a dash of Billy Idol, a very generous helping of Brit rock, just a pinch of Coldplay and a heaping serving of The Killers… yes I’m aware I’m one of the six Killers fans left, but hear me out.

This album is a beautiful arrangement of poppy rock tunes and warm ballades with delicate synth undertones ornamenting the soothing melodies and riffs that are extremely pleasing to the ears. The entire album is already a masterpiece of instrumental skill, but add the soothing baritone vocal and this is an album that can fully submerge its listener into sonic euphoria.

The pace of this album also just feels right. Opening with four high energy pop rock tracks that all get the toe tapping with slick guitar riffs and percussion that can get a crowd dancing, the album then settles down and becomes a captivating audio journey of light rock tunes and ballades, just to pick back up again and end with a bang.

Suggested tracks
This is one of those great albums that is full to the brim of great songs; naturally there are some songs that are better than others, but that doesn’t mean any of the songs are bad by any means. I seriously recommend the entire album, but if I have to choose a handful of tracks then I have to suggest

Let Let Go Tonight
The Moment
Take Me Out
We Were Never Meant To Be
You Always Get What You Want

Atomic Tom: The Moment should be in the library of any fan of current pop and electric rock, the blend of British and American rock is a delicious concoction with just enough borrowed from bands you already know and love. At just $7.99 on iTunes, you really have no reason to deny yourself this gem of an album.

Upon seeing this video, I was too intrigued to not visit this band’s Myspace page; once there I made a very exciting realization: Not only does this band have an effective viral video, their music is also great on top of it.

The band is Atomic Tom, the album is The Moment… and it is awesome.
