So for those that know me, I’ve been hyping this British artist that I’ve been listening to for a while now. Her name is Marina Diamondis and her solo career is known as Marina and the Diamonds. She’s got a cheeky, fear not I am your saviour of music, type of style and even though many have probably not listened to a single track that she has released, once you check her site and listen to a few of her tunes you will be as hooked as I am. From her potent, track Obsessions, which talks about a bout of OCD, to her song about turning 17 years old, aptly titled Seventeen, she has full range of style and when she’s on stage she acts like a white Karen O. So for those with interest in finding something new, something that blends a Lily Allen attitude with a Lights vibe on the piano, then check her out. Her website is http://www.myspace.com/marinaandthediamonds and if you live in Britain, don’t miss out on one of her performances, especially her placement in the Glastonbury lineup.
