Storming from the suburbs of Toronto, ON, the Most Serene Republic includes the likes of Adrian Jewett on lead vocals, Adam Nimmo on drums, Emma Ditchburn on vocals and guitar. Ryan Lenssen on keyboards, Nick Greaves on guitar and Andrew McArthur on bass. The indie rock group formed in 2003 and signed a deal with the Arts & Crafts label shortly after that, becoming the first band ever signed to the label that did not include a member or former member of the Canadian supergroup, Broken Social Scene. A number of North American tours with Canadian associates Stars followed into summer of 2005. The crew’s sophisticated and successful debut, Underwater Cinematographer, was released later that summer, while in October 2007, after the addition of Tony Nesbitt-Larking on drums and Simon Lukasewich on bass, the Most Serene Republic’s Population hit shelves.
