Walk Off The Earth at Sound Academy – December 12, 2013

Photographs by Matt Klopot

You’ve seen them on YouTube and last night Toronto got to witness Walk Off The Earth in action. The indie-rock quintet made their final Canadian stop on the Gang of Rhythm Tour at the Sound Academy.

Their fans saw the magic from their videos come to life with intense instrument sharing, loud sound effects, and crazy stage antics. Between all the madness, Walk Off The Earth didn’t miss a beat. As the band played a mix of covers and songs from their album R.E.V.O, you could feel an inescapable feel good vibe around venue. There was nothing but love flowing from the audience and WOTE fed off that energy throughout the night.

It’s safe to say that as much as fans adore songs like “Red Hands and “Gang of Rhythm”, it’s their covers of Goyte’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” and Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” is the songs fans love.  The evening ended with “Summer Vibe” where couple of fans joined Walk Off The Earth on stage while the roadies held up signs for the audience to sing along.
