Blue Rodeo, Ed Kowalczyk, Elephant Revival, Fred Penner at Ottawa Folk Fest

Toronto country rock legends Blue Rodeo headlined Ottawa Folk Fest’s Day 4 on Saturday. Despite the weather being cold, Jim Cuddy repeated tried to hypnotize the audience by saying “The cold is not bothering you.” This apparently worked and he is a magician of sorts as the crowd kept together and enjoyed a amazing night of music.

Ed Kowalczyk, the American alt-rock star performed a solid set that warmed up festival goers. And we also got to see an actual folk band in the form of Elephant Revival. They hail from Colorado and is probably the closest thing to what the festival organizers want in a act for their event.

Also on the bill was our beloved childhood singer Fred Penner. He may be 67 years old now (he looks the same as on TV many years ago!) but he actually performed two shows. One during the day for families and children. And then a night show for the adults who watched him growing up.
