“Pipe Dreams” by Kyle Duke and The Brown Bag Boys

Kyle Duke and the Brown Bag Boys are an Indie/Psych-Rock band based out of New York,NY. Kyle Duke himself is a singer, songwriter, and producer. He moved to New York in 2015 and has been spreading the word about his unique music ever since, and is definitely a “rising artist” in the Indie scene.

This week, I chose the song “Pipe Dreams”. Definitely has a bit of a shoegaze vibe, but I definitely sense some Mac Demarco influence- which is totally fine. This song defiantely has a darker vibe to it, and its pretty much about being high, but I really enjoyed it. I think the song also has some really great lyricism- one of my favourite lines from the track is “You wanna live in a pipe dream, it’s funny things aren’t what they seem when you’re clean so you dream that you know what everything means”.

Additionally, the video is really cool. It has a vintage vibe to it, along with a sci-fi kind of theme to it. Overall, I really love this song and I think he has an awesome voice- give it a listen!
