Video Premiere: “I Won’t Die” by Chris Assaad

Chris Assaad is a singer-songwriter from Toronto who has been sharing his eclectic blend of soulful roots music, heart-opening songs and stories, and actively using his voice to grow an international grassroots community. His new album, I Won’t Die, was recently released direct to fans on his website and will be available digitally everywhere in Spring 2017.

I Won’t Die is the title track from Chris Assaad’s, new album. The video shows three artists each jamming in their craft. In addition to Chris, the video feature’s Maceo Paisley, LA-based dancer and renaissance man freestyling in Chinatown in LA and Jessica Gorlicky, a well-known Toronto-based pop, abstract artist & live performance painter doing some street art in the popular Graffiti alley in downtown Toronto. The video was directed by Pavel Safonov at PS Creations and Miz Monday on second camera with Graphic Arts by Diana Shams.

I Won’t Die kinda just came through me. I’d been sick and I’d lost my voice, and I was unable to sing for over a month, which is a really long time for me. I picked up my guitar and starting jamming on this riff I had and the lyric ‘I won’t die, I won’t die, with my music inside me’ just came through from this raw, guttural, deeper place I’d never sung from before. To me, it’s like a creative battlecry and artist mantra. It’s an anthem and call to action for ALL artists, creators, visionaries, light workers and courageous souls who are on the path of sharing their unique gifts, talents and heart songs at this critical time in our history.” -Chris Assaad
