World Premiere

Video Premiere : “Down To The Bottom” by Declan O’Donovan

Declan O’Donovan’s brand new single ‘Down To The Bottom’ is out today and we’ve got the exclusive video premiere! ‘Down To The Bottom’ is the first single from Declan O’Donovan’s new album Broken Sky, which is set to be released on June 2nd.

Directed by the same visual artist behind Declan O’Donovan’s Broken Sky album artwork, Dustyn Lucas created a dark and hauntingly stylish performance piece for ‘Down To The Bottom’. Brilliantly filmed to create continuity between the album artwork and the music video, it starts with a series of visually arresting scenes featuring Declan suspended and falling into darkness and water, and develops to revolve around his captivating ‘faux-underwater’ performance at the piano, replete with characters and creatures that come from a world somewhere between 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea and Pan’s Labyrinth.

Broken Sky is the follow-up to Declan O’Donovan’s self-titled debut album, released in 2012.  The sophomore release was recorded with Juno Award-winning producer Jean Massicotte (Patrick Watson, Alejandra Ribera, Adam Cohen, Lhasa) at Studio Masterkut in Montreal + features members of Patrick Watson including: Robbie Kuster, Mishka Stein, and Joe Grass; and Brad Barr from The Barr Brothers. All music was written while Declan was living between Whitehorse, Toronto, and Montreal from 2014 to 2016. He currently resides in Whitehorse, when he’s not on the road.

Declan is touring nationally and internationally in support of Broken Sky. He will be playing Germany + the UK  in May, and will have Canadian dates in June and July.
