Manifesto is a non-profit that inspires local communities through the power of arts and culture. They bridge the gap between artists, industry experts and young people with unique programming, workshops, exhibitions, and more. Between both their annual festival and year-round efforts to connect diverse communities to the industry, Manifesto is undoubtedly one of the most important cultural institutions driving social change and growth in Toronto’s arts sector.
This week, Manifesto kicks off the eleventh iteration of its multi-disciplinary event with their music festival, bringing some of the most promising local and international voices to their stage. You can join the festivities this Thursday, June 8th over at The Drake Hotel, where Manifesto is hosting a FREE House Party (just don’t forget to RSVP).
Spend this Saturday, June 10th catching the main concert event at Echo Beach. OVO Sound act, and Toronto-natives, Majid Jordan headline with support from Odd Future-affiliate The Internet, TDE’s rising star Isaiah Rashad and Janelle Monae-signee Jidenna. Be sure to show up early for local acts Sean Leon and Tika, an unbelievably powerhouse songstress right from the 6.
In case you can’t make it (but really, why can’t you?), after the show is the after party. Catch Vashtie, Nino Brown, and Dre Ngozi spinning at High Power to wrap up the first instalment of Manifesto’s celebration, which will continue on into the fall with even greater programming.
