Video Premiere : ‘Clarky The Wizard’ by Friendly Rich

From the Artist : “Clarky The Wizard” was inspired by Dave Clark (Rheostatics, Woodshed Orchestra, Dinner is Ruined Band), who is a great mentor of mine. Love his approach to creative music making, and creating community. Dave Clark (aka Clarky) writes a lot of songs in honour of those he admires…he even wrote one about me. I was inspired to take a try and doing the same for him, honouring his wizardry.
“He’s got nothing but LOVE…LOVE…LOVE…LOVE!” when the world is as upside down as it finds itself. Spread that shit like Nutella.

Friendly Rich is a mad composer from Oakville, Canada. Mr. Rich composed background music for 3 seasons of MTV’s The Tom Green Show. Since 1994, he has recorded exclusively for his own eclectic record label, The Pumpkin Pie Corporation. Rich holds a Masters degree in music from the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Lee Bartel and composer R. Murray Schafer. His Hawksley Workman produced new recording ‘The Great Blue Heron’ was just released on September 22nd. The new video showcases the idiosyncratic nature of Friendly Rich the songwriter, but also the elastic genre defying composer he’s known to be. The video for ‘Clarky The Wizard’ is oddly hypnotizing. One face and a multitude of effects brings you into the world of Friendly Rich. And now that we’ve been there, why would we want to be anywhere else?
