Video Premiere : “Wake Up” by Fake Shark

From The Artist : “Wake Up is about dreaming of someone or something you had no special feelings for, but when you wake up, you’re in love with them. The single is definitely a new direction for us, and it’s the result of our musical chemistry coming together the best it’s ever been. We’re so excited!”

For the past few years Vancouver’s Fake Shark has been making indie pop music that hooks listeners on first listen. Most recently the band released it’s funky, groove-driven anthem “Wake Up” which claims Fake Shark’s place among fellow pop-rock heavyweights like Portugal. The Man and Passion Pit. It’s an impeccable psych-infused track that incites both new and existing fans to dance along.

Now, the band has followed with a neon-drenched music video. Frontman Kevvy Mental says “‘Wake Up’ is about dreaming of someone or something you had no special feelings for, but when you wake up, you’re in love with them.” The visual incorporates dreamlike aspects – blurred images and double vision – while continuing to represent the vibrancy emitting from this talented group.

“Wake Up” is a follow up to the band’s recent full length Faux Real (out now on Light Organ Records) and is a promising glimpse into Fake Shark’s future.
