Video Premiere : “Body” by Fintan

From The Artist : Inspired by the feeling of being completely in love with somebody and telling them that you’re gonna be there through all the ups and downs, “Body” encapsulates everything I was feeling in the relationship it was written about.

It’s easy to love somebody when everything is going well, but the true test of any relationship is how you love someone when things are tough. I wanted “Body” to be a promise to that person that no matter what, it was always gonna be love.

Fintan is 21-year-old musician based in Victoria, BC, Canada. And today we’re premiering his new single ‘Body’. Born in Birmingham, England, and moved to Canada with his family at age 6, Fintan comes from a long line of musicians. His father is a professional musician, grandmother is a professional musician, and his great-grandmother was the first female kit drummer in Ireland.

The new single shimmers right out of the gate with Fintan’s silky vocals gliding over luscious organ pads. Each aspect of the production, from the bouncing, almost Motown bassline, to the subtle guitar swoons, is placed to highlight his expressive vocals. This all leads up to a truly infectious chorus. There’s always a fine line when making a ballad “pop”, often these songs can drift into maudlin sentiment or cheesy forced hookiness, but every emotional tug at the heartstrings on ‘Body’ is earned. There’s true weight in Fintan’s words and phrasing.

The “Body” music video was filmed and directed by Ft. Langley (William Wilkinson and Oliver Brooks). They are acclaimed directors who have shot videos for Holy Fuck, Aidan Knight, Harrison ft. Ralph, and Andy Shauf.
