Tech Review: Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt…in Colour

At last, the highly anticipated update to the already popular Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt is here. And say hello to the beautiful new colour display!

While the original Bolt (2017) was fantastic, Wahoo has listened to what cyclist wanted, and have refined and dialled in everything into this compact, and light aero designed bike computer.

The new Bolt features a 2.2” display that has 64 colours. A 15-hour battery life, USB-C charging, and an increased 16GB of on-board memory for all your routes, and workouts.

I love the Smart Navigation feature as you can just tap a location on the device, then get turn-by-turn directions on the go. It’s very intuitive.

The display is the MVP here. The viewing angles of the screen is superb when visualizing your data on the go. The text is very bold and readable. The colours also have a solid contrast which allows riders to distinguish the surrounding areas.

Still, one of the best features of the entire Wahoo ecosystem, is their ELEMNT Companion App, available on both iOS and Android. This app make syncing workouts, customizing data field pages, managing sensors an absolute breeze.

After a handful of rides, I can say that the new Wahoo Bolt is an absolute gem to monitor my metrics while riding. The new design of the almost protruding buttons makes going through the various pages a breeze. The all black colour is also super slick.

I can only hope they do the same with the next generation of the bigger brother ROAM.
