Following the epic heights reached on his latest single “Scorpio,” Mourning Coffee, the brainchild of musician Christian Diana, the experimental-indie extraordinaire returns with his latest release “Taurus,” out on all digital platforms today.
Mourning Coffee’s fine composition and exquisite layering places emphasis on every detail integrated into the mix, culminating in a bold, defiant atmosphere which evokes the sheer power of his work.
Accompanied by a vibrant lyric video, Mourning Coffee further enhances the spirit of “Taurus,” which aligns nicely with his past releases over the course of the last several months.
Mourning Coffee channels his emotions through each and every note, with his powerful chord progressions emanating a wealth of passion and sentiment.
Mourning Coffee’s ability to induce equally as strong emotions across such contrasting pieces of music is a testament to his compositional talents. With rich instrumentation and rousing percussion, “Taurus,” is a standout single for the new year.
Mourning Coffee is a singer-songwriter from New Jersey, formerly signed to Brink Records and Manic Kat Records, and former frontman of touring band The Foxfires. He released ‘Introvert/Extrovert’ in 2021, followed by a couple collaborative singles and ‘RETROGRADE’ in 2022. Now rebranded as Mourning Coffee and accompanied by a band, he takes a new tone as we continue to head into 2023.
With “Taurus” offering a glimmer of what is to follow, we now look forward to the upcoming releases Mourning Coffee has up his sleeve for us this year.
Quote from the Artist:
“Considering my previous single Pisces dealt with our relationship to our inner self, Taurus describes our relationship to the world around us. Well-known themes of Taurus are being patient with your self growth, grounding yourself in nature, and discovering your self worth. A reminder to be grateful with where you are right now and find stillness of the smallest moments. So the lyrics to Taurus are all about grounding yourself and appreciating how far you’ve come along on your journey, and that everyone makes mistakes on their journey. This is how we grow.”
