LIL MIX

LIL MIX Volume 26

Lollapalooza is back for its 25th year, July 28th-31st, in the heart of Chicago. It has been one of the top festivals in North America for over two decades and has helped pave the way for the music festival surge of the past 10 years. The success of the festival has even opened the door for international versions. This year they have festivals taking place all over the world. Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Germany all have their own Lollapalooza for 2016.

The festival was created by Perry Farrell in 1991 as a farewell show for his band Jane’s Addiction. This year Lolla Chicago are throwing back to some 90’s heavyweights in Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers, rounded out by the 2016 festival staple LCD Soundsystem. The lineup features some of the best talent in modern music, with acts like Lana Del Rey, J.Cole, Future, Ellie Goulding, Leon Bridges, Flume, Haim and The 1975, the festival is sure to cater to everyone’s taste. The undercard also features a handful of Canadian artists making big waves south of the border. Acts like Grimes, The Strumbellas, Alessia Cara and Arkells have broken into the American music scene and have started popping up on more and more festival lineups stateside. We are expecting big things for The Strumbellas this year, with a new album dropping in a few weeks.
