World Premiere

Double Feature Premiere : “Bad Habits” + “Drive Me Home” – Emily Clair

Canadian country artist, Emily Clair,  has just released the live-off the floor videos for her songs “Bad Habits (Stripped)” & “Drive Me Home (Stripped)”. Both songs are from her debut EP, “Stripped”, and we’re very excited to team up with her to premiere these videos exclusively on Live In Limbo!

Produced by CMAO-nominated Shawn Moore, “Stripped” features raw, unedited, live off the floor versions of the Kingston, Ontario-based artist’s complete 7-single release catalogue – all recorded at Hamilton’s Catherine North Studios. A full slate of videos by Roadhouse Productions captured the complete recording process of the EP.

In re calling “Bad Habits”, Emily Clair says, “This was my very first song pitch, written by Aaron Allen and Patrick James Clark, both artists and writers from Ontario. I was honoured to have been asked to sing on this track, but I wasn’t sure how I would connect with a song that wasn’t exactly mine. The second I heard it, something told me it was always meant for me. ‘Bad Habits’ quickly turned into another favourite and was the fourth most downloaded country single in Canada, and the third consecutive song to land me a spot in the Top 40 on CBC Country/Sirius XM. This song always brings a smile to my face. It was my favourite one to perform live off the floor at Catherine North Studios. When I first watched my live performances back, this was the song that got me emotional, and made me realize many of my accomplishments and dreams that I’ve dreamt since I was three years old, have come true.”

In thinking about “Drive Me Home”, Emily Clair says, “The fourth consecutive single to land me a spot in the Top 40 on CBC Country/Sirius XM, ‘Drive Me Home’ is the first upbeat, happy song I’ve released. I started writing this song alone, and realized if I had co-writers, it could be stronger. I wanted to write about a female’s perspective on taking her loved one home. I wanted to stray away from what everyone else is doing, and I didn’t want to write another drinking song, so this is what I came up with!”

As her third release of 2021 – following the singles “Drive Me Home” and “Limousine” –“Stripped” is another milestone for Emily Clair, who has enjoyed four consecutive singles reaching the Top 40 on CBC Country/Sirius XM. Two of those songs – “The Sobering Truth” and “Me or the Whiskey” – also made the semi-finals of the Unsigned Only Music Competition. These songs, along with “Bad Habits”, “Come Home”, and “Running on Empty” make up the body of the EP. While she is in the early stages of recording an album of original material that will tease its first single during the first quarter of 2022, “Stripped” is the perfect way for Emily Clair to close this well-versed chapter of her career. She says, “My goal in this industry it to create music that is genuine and will forever remain true to my roots. The process of re-visiting four years of music to create this EP a gift I can look back and remember all of the accomplishments and milestones I’ve paved so far with these recordings.”“Stripped” is now available on all streaming platforms.
