Governors Ball 2015 Day 2: SBTRKT, Future Islands, Little Dragon, Marina and the Diamonds

The second day of the Governors Ball in New York City saw a bit more attention to electronic music. Niagara’s Deadmau5 headlined the main GOVBALLNYC stage and Ryan Adams closing out the Honda Stage. It’s actually really cool to note Canadians (Drake from the previous night) made the top bill for two out of the three nights of such a huge international festival.

SBTRKT crushed the Gotham Tent with face mask, synthesizers, sweet drum kicks, and dramatic lighting.

Iceland’s Bjork had one of the most beautiful stage set ups and costumes Gov Ball will see this year. Unfortunately, she doesn’t like photos of it floating around. But we’re sure you’ll find some on the interwebz.

Future Islands set was full of passion and energy. They are well known from their performances on Letterman in the past, but it’s easily carried over to their other shows. Sam Herring does an incredible job of just letting the music consume him.

Marina and the Diamonds also put on a very good performance that got the crowd dancing to her latest album Froot. Grammy award winning Clean Bandit member Jack Peterson was also presented with a sweet birthday cake in the VIP area by Marina.

Other notable acts of day 2 include Sharon Van Etten, Kate Tempest, and fast rising HOLYCHILD
